What are 3 Types of Criminal Law?

There are three types of criminal law: substantive criminal law, procedural criminal law, and evidence criminal law. Substantive criminal law is the area of law that defines crimes and sets out the punishment for those crimes. Procedural criminal law is the area of law that sets out how the police and courts should deal with suspected criminals. Evidence criminal law is the area of law that sets out what type of evidence can be used in court to prove someone guilty of a crime.
